St Pete Beach, FL Plumbing & Electrical Services

A+ BBB · Licensed since 1994

St Pete Beach is a barrier-island city in Pinellas County at the southern end of the chain, home to Pass-a-Grille, the historic Don CeSar resort, and a long stretch of Gulf Boulevard lined with beachfront condos, hotels, and homes. The housing stock spans from historic Pass-a-Grille cottages to mid-century homes on the Intracoastal side and modern elevated rebuilds.

Titan Plumbing and Electric serves St Pete Beach homeowners and condo owners with licensed plumbing and electrical work suited to coastal construction and salt-air conditions.

Plumbing Concerns Common in St Pete Beach

Pass-a-Grille and other older sections of St Pete Beach contain homes well over 50 years old, with cast iron drains and galvanized or early copper supply lines that benefit from inspection and often replacement. Newer rebuilds typically use PEX with mechanical equipment housed in raised utility spaces.

Condo buildings deal with shared drain stacks, in-unit shutoff updates, and the ongoing maintenance high-occupancy coastal buildings need. Salt air also wears out outdoor showers, hose bibs, and irrigation faster than inland.

  • Cast iron drain replacement and lining
  • Repipes for galvanized and aging copper
  • Tank and tankless water heater service
  • Condo unit shutoff and fixture work
  • Outdoor shower and hose bib repair
  • Backflow testing and repair

Electrical Work We Do in St Pete Beach

Coastal homes here face heavy lightning exposure and salt-air corrosion, both of which shorten the life of panels, breakers, meter cans, and outdoor receptacles. Older homes commonly need panel replacements and service upgrades, and elevated rebuilds usually need their grounding and service entrances revisited.

We handle whole-home surge protection, generator integration, and the GFCI and weather-resistant outlet work coastal properties depend on.

Why St Pete Beach Homeowners Choose Titan

Titan Plumbing and Electric is a Florida-licensed plumbing and electrical contractor serving the Pinellas barrier islands. For St Pete Beach homeowners and condo owners, one company across both trades simplifies scheduling and accountability on coastal projects, post-storm repairs, and remodels.

We recently had our two water heaters replaced. Ariel did a great job making sure that they were installed and working. We have an older house and Ariel had to solve some connection issues to get everything installed and operational. Titan was professional and skilled and the hot water and water pressure are great now.

After this year's hurricanes, Titan is the only business I can rely on to show up when they say they will be there. Months after the storms blew through, we struggle to work with any company because the supply chain is so limited. I wish all companies were as honest as Titan. Their field technicians are not only highly skilled but very kind. Thank you Titan for your enduring commitment to integrity and great service!

I was running late getting home and the plumber waited for an hour on me. I appreciate him and his partner's patience. They fixed my issue fast and didn't complain. I haven't had a problem with my plumbing thus far. This is the company I would love to come fix my plumbing issues and I will refer them to friends in a heartbeat.

Very impressed. Was in a bind on a Saturday. Victor came out within 90 minutes of my call and was very knowledgeable about the Flologic leak detection system we had that showed a possible leak. Within 15 minutes he advised the issue was with the valve for that system that got stuck in the off position. He fixed it, tested the system and we were good to go. I'm very thankful for getting in touch with the right company. Victor was very professional, friendly, and if we have any further plumbing or electric issues we will call Titan.

Thank you to Travis, Brian, and Pete at Titan! We had a great experience with their plumbing and electrical work. They showed up on time, were easy to communicate with, and got everything done quickly and professionally. The plumbing issues were fixed without any hassle, and the electrical work was completed neatly and works perfectly. They explained everything along the way, cleaned up after themselves, and were respectful of our home. Highly recommend them for any plumbing or electrical needs.

Travis, employed by Titan Plumbing, is one of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet. The son of the owner, he treats people with 110% satisfaction. Great guy. I tell all my neighbors and friends about the job he did.

FAQ

St Pete Beach Plumbing & Electrical FAQs

What St Pete Beach homeowners ask us most often.

Who do I call for a sewer problem versus a water problem?
Two different agencies split it. Pinellas County Utilities runs the potable water system and bills for water, wastewater, and reclaimed service. Sewer issues inside St. Pete Beach go to the city's Public Services Department. Homeowners with a backup routinely call the county first and lose an hour on hold. Start with the city for anything sewer related and with the county for pressure, quality, or billing.
Which gas company serves St. Pete Beach?
TECO Peoples Gas serves St. Pete Beach. The barrier island towns north of here sit in Clearwater Gas System's territory instead, and the boundary runs right through the beaches. That affects appliance conversions, meter upgrades, and gas line permits, since each utility has its own application process and its own emergency number. Duke Energy supplies electricity across the entire island.
Does St. Pete Beach issue its own permits?
Yes. The city runs its own building department at 155 Corey Hall, working under the 2023 eighth edition of the Florida Building Code. Permit fees are due when you submit the application rather than when it is issued, which catches people who budgeted for payment at pickup. Have payment ready at submittal or the review clock does not start.
Why do so many properties here sit empty?
The 2020 Census counted 8,036 housing units for 8,879 residents, 38 percent of them vacant, with a median age of 60.4. St. Pete Beach leans heavily toward vacation rentals, condos, and seasonal owners. Long vacancies are when water heaters rust through and supply lines burst with nobody in the building, so leak sensors and an accessible unit shutoff pay for themselves on Long Key.
Is a standby generator worth it on the beach?
Long Key evacuates before a storm, so a generator here earns its keep in the days afterward while Duke Energy is still rebuilding lines, keeping the refrigerator, a window unit, and the well pump or lift station running. Salt exposure means the enclosure, the pad height, and the transfer switch matter as much as the engine. See standby generator installation.
My house is in Pass-a-Grille and it's old. What should I expect?
Pass-a-Grille predates the 1957 consolidation that created St. Pete Beach out of Pass-a-Grille, Belle Vista, and St. Petersburg Beach, and its cottages are among the oldest housing on the island. Galvanized supply, cast iron drains, and two wire ungrounded circuits all turn up. Historic character does not exempt the work from current code, so a small remodel often becomes a partial repipe or a panel change.
What did the 2024 storms change for beach homeowners?
Helene's surge in late September 2024 and Milton about two weeks later put saltwater into ground floor equipment across the island. Owners who reinstalled water heaters and panels at the original height went through it twice. When that equipment fails now, price out raising it on a platform or relocating it to an upper floor while the wall is already open.
