Why Tampa Homeowners Are Switching to Tankless Water Heaters
More and more homeowners in Tampa are upgrading to tankless water heaters, and for good reason. Unlike traditional tank systems, a tankless water heater heats water on demand. That means you're not paying to keep a large tank of water hot all during business hours. You only use energy when you need hot water. That's a big win for both your wallet and the environment.
Tampa's warm climate also makes tankless systems even more efficient since the incoming water temperature is already higher, requiring less energy to reach your desired temperature. These systems take up less space, can be mounted on walls, and are great for homes that need hot water for multiple bathrooms or laundry loads running at once. Plus, they can last longer with proper maintenance, up to 20 years in many cases.
If you're considering making the switch, Titan Plumbing and Electric is ready to help you figure out if tankless is right for your home and hot water needs.
Signs It's Time to Replace Your Current Water Heater
You don't have to wait for your water heater to stop working completely before replacing it. Here are some clear signs that it might be time to upgrade.
Upgrading to a tankless water heater now can prevent emergencies later. Call Titan Plumbing and Electric to inspect your current system and help you choose the right replacement.
- Inconsistent or Low Hot Water Supply:If you're frequently running out of hot water or it takes longer than usual to heat up, your system might be wearing out.
- Rusty or Metallic-Tasting Water:This could be a sign of internal corrosion in the tank, which can lead to leaks or total failure.
- Unusual Noises:Popping, rumbling, or banging sounds often mean sediment has built up, forcing your system to work harder than it should.
- Rising Energy Bills:An old or inefficient water heater can drive up your utility costs, especially if it's struggling to keep up with demand.
- Age of the Unit:If your water heater is over 10 years old, especially in Tampa's humid climate, it might be nearing the end of its life.
What to Expect During Tankless Water Heater Installation
If you're wondering what installation day looks like, we keep it simple and stress-free. When you schedule a tankless water heater installation with Titan Plumbing and Electric, our licensed technicians show up ready with everything they need to complete the job. We'll start by taking a close look at your home's water usage, layout, and existing plumbing and electrical setup. This helps us determine the right size and type of tankless unit for your needs.
Then we'll remove your old system if needed and prepare the wall or area where the new tankless unit will be installed. We'll make sure the gas, water, and electric connections are properly handled and up to code. Once everything is in place, we'll run a few tests to make sure you're getting the hot water flow you expect. We'll also walk you through how the system works and how to maintain it. Our goal is to make sure your system works great and keeps working for years to come.
Tankless Water Heater or Tank? Which Is Best?
At Titan Plumbing and Electric, we help homeowners identify the best system for each home based on the following criteria: number of people in the home, hot water demand, hot water usage, importance of energy efficiency, age of the existing system, and budget.
The right size system is critical to ensure it meets your hot water demands. Basing a recommended hot water system, whether tank or tankless, on the size of the home versus demand and usage is never a good idea. You could end up paying for the wrong size tank or tankless system, and it can cost you more in the long run.
Let our professional team assess your current situation, what you want your system to be able to do, the space you have available, and financing options to ensure you get the best system possible at a great, affordable price the very first time. If you're sick of running out of hot water, call Titan Plumbing and Electric in Tampa, FL, at 813-933-8010 and ask about a point-of-use water heater.

We have a request from a customer to put in a tankless water heater and it's a very large electric tankless heater. They want to be able to fill a tub with the tankless heater. Most people don't know what's involved in upgrading your electrical to be able to put one of these bad boys in. We're going to step over and talk to Max from Titan and he's going to show us what's involved to upgrade your service and enough power to be able to run this large electric tankless heater. All right. And what we got here is right now we had to upgrade our meter outside from a 200 amp meter to a 400 amp meter to refeed these two panels. Before that we had a 200 amp here. Now we're adding a second panel over there to have those 400 amps. So this is our splice box where we refeed our feeder wire into the first panel and then we refeed the second panel on the bottom here and come in the bottom into this panel as well. For more information on upgrading your panels and maybe putting in a tankless electric water heater, go to titanplumbinglectric.com. [Music]
