Hey everybody, I'm Corbin with Titan Plumbing Electric and today we're taking a look at probably the best example of why a water softener or water filtration system in your home is so important. Not only for your health, but for the health of your plumbing system. They say that the water heater is the heart of your plumbing system. The buildup inside is almost like a clogged artery. Look at this heater with how much sediment is inside here. I mean, this is ridiculous. That's the heart of your plumbing system. Having the equivalent of a heart attack. This is pounds and pounds and pounds and pounds of sediment built up over decades. This is why flushing your heater is so important once a year. And to help prevent this, the water softener and the water filtration systems that we sell here at Titan will stop this much from building up in your heater, causing a heart attack in your plumbing system. If you're interested in a water softener or water filtration system, give Titan Plumbing Electric a call at 813-933810 or visit our website titanplumbinglectric.com. [Music]

If you're sick of the water spots on the dishes or the dry, itchy skin, consider a home water softener installation from Titan Plumbing and Electric.

If you have hard water, it can wreak havoc on your appliances and leave clothes feeling stiff and scratchy. Hard water isn't unhealthy, but it makes life inconvenient. Fortunately, whole-home water softeners fix hard water problems.

What Is Hard Water?

When it rains, the water coming out of the sky is soft, meaning it lacks a high mineral content. However, when it drains through the ground to wind up in rivers and lakes, it picks up dissolved minerals such as magnesium and calcium, among others. These minerals make the water hard.

What Are the Effects of Hard Water?

While mineral-heavy water isn't unhealthy to drink, its many side effects can make life unpleasant. Here are just a few of the adverse effects of hard water.

  • Hard water prevents soap and detergent from entirely dissolving, which means you end up with water spots on your dishes and utensils, dull hair, stiff clothes, and dry skin.
  • Hard water also leaves mineral deposits around fixtures like faucets and showerheads. Also, mineral buildup in appliances can cause them to fail prematurely.
  • Hard water causes mineral buildup in your water heater, which means it runs less efficiently, costing you more money to operate.

How Water Softeners Work

Now that you know about hard water and some of its ill-effects, let's look at water softeners and how they make your water soft and more pleasant to use. Resin tanks within the water softener contain thousands of resin beads charged with sodium ions. When hard water moves through the system, these beads attract the magnesium and calcium ions from the hard water and exchange them for sodium ions, which makes the water soft.

Whole House Filters Extend The Life Of Your Heater. How a whole-house filter protects every fixture and appliance, with the water heater as the biggest beneficiary.

We're here at our water heater challenge. We cut open the heater. We gave $500 off for the cups of sediment we pulled out of the heater. We're also going to make some recommendations. This house is on a well, so and it's not uh doesn't have any kind of filter system. So, we're going to recommend a whole house filter system or at the bare minimum, this is a a sediment filter that would just protect the heater. We would install this in line before the water comes into the heater and that would protect the whole hot water side of the house and also all of the sediment from getting into this this heater. This filter would need to be replaced probably every 3 to to 5 months. We have other systems we're going to recommend that would be less maintenance. Um probably a softener system would be the best to get all of this sediment out and take care of the rust. For more information, go to Titan Plumbing and Electric.

We recently had our two water heaters replaced. Ariel did a great job making sure that they were installed and working. We have an older house and Ariel had to solve some connection issues to get everything installed and operational. Titan was professional and skilled and the hot water and water pressure are great now.

After this year's hurricanes, Titan is the only business I can rely on to show up when they say they will be there. Months after the storms blew through, we struggle to work with any company because the supply chain is so limited. I wish all companies were as honest as Titan. Their field technicians are not only highly skilled but very kind. Thank you Titan for your enduring commitment to integrity and great service!

Very impressed. Was in a bind on a Saturday. Victor came out within 90 minutes of my call and was very knowledgeable about the Flologic leak detection system we had that showed a possible leak. Within 15 minutes he advised the issue was with the valve for that system that got stuck in the off position. He fixed it, tested the system and we were good to go. I'm very thankful for getting in touch with the right company. Victor was very professional, friendly, and if we have any further plumbing or electric issues we will call Titan.
