Gulfport, FL Plumbing & Electrical Services

A+ BBB · Licensed since 1994

Gulfport is a small waterfront city on the south end of the Pinellas peninsula, sitting along Boca Ciega Bay just southwest of St. Petersburg. The city is known for its historic waterfront district, walkable downtown along Beach Boulevard, and a housing stock that leans heavily toward 1920s through 1950s bungalows and cottages.

Titan Plumbing and Electric serves Gulfport homeowners with licensed plumbing and electrical work tailored to the city's older, often historically significant building stock and its bay-adjacent location.

Plumbing Concerns Common in Gulfport

Many Gulfport homes predate 1960, which means cast iron drain lines and galvanized supply lines are common and frequently due for replacement. Sewer laterals running under mature trees see significant root intrusion, and clay tile sections still appear in some yards.

Bay-adjacent properties also deal with corrosion on outdoor fixtures and irrigation, and crawlspace plumbing on older raised homes adds its own complications.

  • Cast iron drain replacement and pipe lining
  • Galvanized supply line repipes
  • Sewer camera inspection and root removal
  • Water heater replacement
  • Crawlspace and pier-built home repairs
  • Outdoor and irrigation repair

Electrical Work We Do in Gulfport

Older Gulfport bungalows often still have undersized services, outdated panels, and a mix of grounded and ungrounded receptacles. Knob-and-tube is rare but possible in the oldest homes, and outdated panel brands are common. Coastal exposure and lightning both push whole-home surge protection up the priority list.

We handle service upgrades, panel replacements, and the small but important corrections older homes need when kitchens and baths are updated.

  • Main panel replacement and service upgrades
  • Whole-home surge protection
  • Grounded receptacle and GFCI upgrades
  • Ceiling fan and lighting installs
  • Dedicated circuits for HVAC and appliances
  • Outdoor and dock wiring

Why Gulfport Homeowners Choose Titan

We recently had our two water heaters replaced. Ariel did a great job making sure that they were installed and working. We have an older house and Ariel had to solve some connection issues to get everything installed and operational. Titan was professional and skilled and the hot water and water pressure are great now.

After this year's hurricanes, Titan is the only business I can rely on to show up when they say they will be there. Months after the storms blew through, we struggle to work with any company because the supply chain is so limited. I wish all companies were as honest as Titan. Their field technicians are not only highly skilled but very kind. Thank you Titan for your enduring commitment to integrity and great service!

I was running late getting home and the plumber waited for an hour on me. I appreciate him and his partner's patience. They fixed my issue fast and didn't complain. I haven't had a problem with my plumbing thus far. This is the company I would love to come fix my plumbing issues and I will refer them to friends in a heartbeat.

Very impressed. Was in a bind on a Saturday. Victor came out within 90 minutes of my call and was very knowledgeable about the Flologic leak detection system we had that showed a possible leak. Within 15 minutes he advised the issue was with the valve for that system that got stuck in the off position. He fixed it, tested the system and we were good to go. I'm very thankful for getting in touch with the right company. Victor was very professional, friendly, and if we have any further plumbing or electric issues we will call Titan.

Thank you to Travis, Brian, and Pete at Titan! We had a great experience with their plumbing and electrical work. They showed up on time, were easy to communicate with, and got everything done quickly and professionally. The plumbing issues were fixed without any hassle, and the electrical work was completed neatly and works perfectly. They explained everything along the way, cleaned up after themselves, and were respectful of our home. Highly recommend them for any plumbing or electrical needs.

Travis, employed by Titan Plumbing, is one of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet. The son of the owner, he treats people with 110% satisfaction. Great guy. I tell all my neighbors and friends about the job he did.

FAQ

Gulfport Plumbing & Electrical FAQs

What Gulfport homeowners ask us most often.

Who actually supplies Gulfport's water?
Gulfport runs its own utility department, but the city buys water and wastewater service wholesale from the City of St. Petersburg under a long term interlocal agreement, and the water originates with Tampa Bay Water. Your sewage is treated at St. Petersburg's Southwest plant. City crews maintain the local mains, roughly 5,700 meters, and 467 backflow preventers inside Gulfport.
Where do I get a plumbing or electrical permit in Gulfport?
Gulfport has its own building division at 5330 23rd Ave S, with applications running through the BS&A online portal and inspections booked on a separate inspection line. The division is small. After Helene, reporting put two staff on permit review, and turnaround stretched accordingly. Submit early on anything with a closing date, an insurance deadline, or a tenant waiting.
Can I make my house liveable while I wait on a full rebuild permit?
Gulfport created minor repair permits after the 2024 flood for that exact situation, covering electrical, HVAC, and plumbing repairs so a house can be occupied while a larger permit is still under review. The scope is narrow and will not cover a full renovation. Ask the building division which category your work falls into before your contractor starts.
How bad was the Helene flooding in Gulfport?
Water from Boca Ciega Bay rose as much as six feet into homes and the commercial district on September 26, 2024, and the city reported more than 600 properties affected. Gulfport sits on the mainland, and plenty of owners assumed the barrier islands would absorb the surge. The bay came over the seawall anyway, and permit volume has not caught up since.
My power came back but half the house is dead. Who fixes what?
Duke Energy owns the service drop and the meter. Everything from the weatherhead and meter can inward belongs to you, including the mast, panel, and grounding electrode. Corroded or storm damaged masts are common along the Gulfport waterfront, and Duke will not reconnect until a licensed electrician repairs it and the city inspects. That is emergency electrical work.
What shows up inside older Gulfport bungalows during a repair?
The waterfront neighborhoods were built out decades before current flood and electrical standards, with landmarks like the 1930 Gulfport Casino dating the area, and the median resident age of 57.1 reflects how long people stay. Opening a wall after a flood commonly exposes cloth wire, ungrounded receptacles, and cast iron drains gone thin at the bottom. Exposed work has to come up to current code.
Does Gulfport handle its own sewer lines?
The city's sewer division operates the collection system inside Gulfport and sends flow to St. Petersburg for treatment. A blockage in the main under the street goes to the city. The lateral running from your house to that main is the property owner's to repair. Repeat backups at the same fixture almost always trace to the private lateral rather than the city line.
