The Optimal lineup we install
Three residential models, sized to actual household demand. Opti 12 (12 kW, 2.5 GPM) for a 1-bath condo or small home with one or two simultaneous fixtures. Opti 18 (18 kW, 3.5 GPM) for a 2-bath home running a shower and a kitchen sink at once. Opti 27 (27 kW, 4.5 GPM) for a larger 3-bath home, master suite with body sprays, or any setup where the family runs two showers in parallel. We size on real GPM and the Tampa cold-water inlet temperature, not on a sales chart, so the unit you get matches the way your house actually uses hot water.
What ultrasonic flow sensing actually changes
Most tankless brands use a small turbine or propeller to detect when water is moving through the unit. Hard Tampa water scales those impellers, the propeller stops spinning, and the heater stops firing at the right moment. Optimal uses ultrasonic sensors, no moving parts in the water path, so demand detection stays accurate for the full life of the unit. It also pairs with leak detection and dry-fire protection so the heat exchanger never fires without water in the line.
Why the 25-year warranty matters
Industry-standard residential tankless coverage is 10 to 15 years on the heat exchanger and 1 to 5 years on parts. Optimal's 25-year residential warranty covers the heat exchanger, the thermistors and transducers, the thermostats and triacs, and the control and power boards. The heat exchanger is pressure-tested at the factory and leaks at welded joints from manufacturing defects are covered. Ground shipping inside the continental US is included on warranty parts. That roughly doubles what every other tankless brand offers, including the premium gas lines.
Service, maintenance, and warranty
Hard Tampa water scales every tankless heat exchanger over time. We descale Optimal units once a year, document each visit, and register the warranty in your name so the coverage stays in force. If a part ever fails inside the warranty window, we work directly with Optimal and install the manufacturer's replacement. No third-party parts, no warranty disputes, no surprise bills.
Smart diagnostics and how we use them
Optimal smart models report status, flow, set temperature, and fault codes over Wi-Fi. On a service call we read the unit's history before pulling a cover, which usually pins the cause of a problem to one component (a sensor, the board, a flow event) instead of guessing. It also means we can confirm the unit is dialed in correctly after every install.
